Thu Nov 27 2008 | AFTER a decade, SAFRA Dragon Boat Club finally placed 3rd in the 20 Crew Men ope Safra Dragonboat Club has performed well at the River Regatta Race 2008 held on the 22nd & 23rd November 2008. The team took part in 4 events, namely, Men’s open, Ladies' open, Mixed open and Interclub & Business houses category.
The 20 crew open category has always been an event dominated by tertiary teams and SAFRA got into the Men’s open Grand Final and placed 3rd in this event. It was 10 years ago since the team was in this category.
The SAFRA Dragon Boat Club main team and Merlions had fought hard and managed to obtain results for the respective races.
Men’s open: 3rd in GRAND FINAL
Men’s open: 4th in PLATE FINAL
Ladies open: 4th in SEMI FINAL
Mixed open: 2nd in PLATE FINAL
Interclub and Business Houses: 2nd in GRAND FINAL
Interclub and Business Houses: PLATE FINAL
Other then the Singapore River Regatta 2008; the team has also taken part in the SAVA Sprints that gave the team invaluable experience as well as the 10KM Challenge which the team has come in 4th.
SAFRA Dragon Boat Club will continue to train hard, we will not stop with what we have achieved now and will be expecting more to come in 2009.
SAFRA will SURGE & CONQUER!!!
