The Safra Dragonboat Club was founded in 1979 by Captain Hong Hong Song (SAF) and a handful of ex-Safsa dragonboat rowers to allow
ex-NS men to still engage in the sport after they had ROD.
The Club grew from strength to strength over the last 20 years. In the early 1990s ladies were inducted into the Club so that the Club could take part in mixed team events. Each year, the Club will participate in the dragonboat, canoeing and river raft races organized locally. Sometimes, it will also be invited to take part in overseas races.
The Club also organizes recreational activities for members such as movie getaways, rowing expeditions, cycling, trekking, pot-luck etc.
The Club conducts weekly trainings every Tuesday and Thursday at Toa Payoh Stadium at 7pm, and every Sunday @ Kallang Basin.
